BELGRADE - Serbian Progressive Party leader Milos Vucevic, who is also adviser to the president of Serbia for regional affairs, said on Tuesday Serbia's path was full EU integration, cooperation with the region and traditional friends in Asia, Africa and South and Latin America, as well as building the best possible relations with the US.

"Protecting our fatherland, safeguarding peace, certainty, predictability and ensuring that our citizens can count on a better tomorrow is our path," Vucevic told the RTS.

Echoing a recent statement by President Aleksandar Vucic, he noted that, for Serbia, there was no doubt that joint EU integration would be the best option for the entire Western Balkan region.

He said the EU integration process did not depend solely on the Western Balkan countries, but also on Brussels's strategy and policy, and that Serbia's job was to follow the reform agenda and meet all obligations - not for Brussels's sake, but for the sake of its own society, for its own sake as a country and for the sake of the standards it aspired to.

"There is no red line, and I do not believe we are at some kind of crossroads in terms of conflicts. I would like the Balkan peoples to be allowed to do what, historically, they have not been allowed to do - to be able to reach mutual agreements and make the best agreements and frameworks satisfying all states and peoples," he said.

"Serbia's path is clear, and it is not sitting on several chairs, but on its own chair," Vucevic said.

"We have our path, we are looking after our national and state interests and we make decisions accordingly, without ingratiating ourselves with anyone and without spats with anyone - we want the best possible relations with everyone," he also said.
