KRAGUJEVAC - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday elections in the country were due within two or six months, and that Serbian citizens would make their judgement in the elections and that their will would be respected.
"And, as you have seen in local elections, no one is going to seize any assembly buildings, municipalities, or anything. It is all up to the citizens. The citizens will make their judgement," Vucic told reporters after a visit to the State Data Centre in Kragujevac, central Serbia.
"Whoever wins, we will congratulate them on the same evening. The voice of the people is the voice of God, and that is all people in Serbia need to know," he said.
Vucic also appealed to everyone involved in political life in Serbia to campaign peacefully and without incidents.
Vucic: Launch of new supercomputer a historic moment
BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday the launch of a new supercomputer, solar panels and Modules 3 and 4 at the State Data Centre in Kragujevac, central Serbia, was a historic moment for Serbia's digital infrastructure and that investments in that field would be continued.
Vucic said the panels brought "an additional 8 MW of energy capacity, whereby we have reached a total of 14 MW."
"We planned a 40 mln euro investment, and, to date, the investment has exceeded 100 mln euros. It demonstrates Serbia's determination and a long-term vision of building sovereign infrastructure," Vucic told reporters after attending the launch.
He said the fact the State Data Centre had the top European certificate - Class 4 certification issued by a German certification authority - was a special source of pride.
"That means our data centre is unique in this part of Europe, an equal member of an elite club of some ten such facilities in entire Europe," he said.
"Today, we launched a second supercomputer, which is based on leading-edge graphics processors and worth five million euros, and seven times faster than the first supercomputer. It will be joined by a third, much more expensive one, under an inter-state agreement with France," Vucic said.
"All this represents the infrastructure foundation upon which the future of our science, economy and public administration is being built," he noted.
Vucic added that Serbian infrastructure had been targeted by 2.6 mln hacker attacks but that the country had succeeded in defending itself.
"I believe the state authorities, too, have learned something, and that is why everyone is now migrating to the State Data Centre here," he said.
