BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received a farewell visit from Japanese Ambassador Akira Imamura on Tuesday, thanking him for his dedicated work and personal commitment to advancement of Serbia-Japan relations during his term in Belgrade.
In a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instgram account, Vucic wrote that this year had been exceptionally important for bilateral relations between the two countries as he had had an opportunity to visit Japan and confirm, in direct discussions, a joint ambition to raise the cooperation to an even higher level.
"We exchanged views on global challenges and concrete possibilities for strengthening economic and investment ties, innovation, digitalisation, infrastructure, as well as cooperation in education, culture and science. Serbia exceptionally appreciates Japan's long-term partnership and principled approach, as well as the trust in our country shown by Japanese companies and institutions," Vucic posted.
At the same time, he expressed the belief the two countries would continue to build relations based on mutual respect, stability and results, and wished the ambassador the best in his further professional work.
