BELGRADE - Serbian FM Marko Djuric received a farewell visit from Japanese Ambassador to Belgrade Akira Imamura on Tuesday.

Djuric expressed his "appreciation for the Ambassador’s personal engagement and contribution to advancing bilateral relations between the two countries," the Serbian MFA said in a statement.

"Minister Djuric conveyed his gratitude to Japan for its strong and continuous support for Serbia, particularly through numerous development projects implemented by Japan, which have made a significant contribution to the overall socio-economic development of Serbia.

He underlined that economic cooperation between Serbia and Japan is developing dynamically, noting in particular the growing number of Japanese investments in the Serbian market.

Minister Djuric also assessed that Expo 2025 Osaka, at which the Serbian pavilion achieved notable results, represented valuable experience for the preparation of the Specialised Expo 2027 Belgrade, to be hosted by Belgrade, for which Japan has confirmed its participation.

Minister Djuric wished Ambassador Imamura every success in his future professional and personal endeavors," the statement said.
