BELGRADE  - Instead of announcements of normalisation of relations, dialogue and work on a joint future, labels and insults are what keeps coming from Pristina also at the beginning of the new year, Serbian FM Marko Djuric said on Monday.

In a reaction to accusations by Pristina's caretaker FM Donika Gervala Schwarz that Belgrade's "foreign policy is no different to that of Russia" and that the Serbian leadership was "dreaming about a regional empire," Djuric noted that the Albin Kurti regime in Pristina continued to operate as Europe's black hole, without prospects but with pronounced talent for producing problems.

"The lecturing on Serbia is legitimate - especially when it comes from someone who is our national and our fellow citizen. However, it would sound more convincing if it did not come from authorities who are embarking on the new year with a serious deficit of human rights, eroded inter-ethnic relations and a practice in which pressure on Serbs, as well as dissenting ethnic Albanians, almost always takes the place of rule of law," Djuric posted on X.

He noted that the Kurti regime was bad for the Serbs and ethnic Albanians alike and posed a risk to all those who expected a minimum of stability in Kosovo-Metohija.
