KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Elected political representatives of Kosovo-Metohija Serbs and representatives of Serbian health care and educational institutions in the province adopted on Thursday a declaration demanding legal, administrative and other facilities for Kosovo-Metohija residents in the process of obtaining personal documents to ensure unobstructed exercise of their fundamental human and civil rights as equal citizens.
The meeting was held in Kosovska Mitrovica.
The declaration demands that university students and employees of the educational and health care systems be allowed unobstructed entry to and stay in Kosovo-Metohija for the duration of their studies and work, respectively.
It also demands that all citizens be guaranteed the right to peaceful and unobstructed use of movable and immovable property as well as use of vehicles, with appropriate legal and other facilities.
The declaration was adopted unanimously.
The meeting, held following Pristina's announcement that it would start implementing laws on foreigners and motor vehicles on March 15, was attended by Srpska lista leaders, the mayors of all ten Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo-Metohija and municipal assembly members, the rector of the University of Pristina - which is temporarily based in Kosovska Mitrovica - university deans and professors and the directors of Serbian health care institutions and primary and secondary schools.
