VRANJE - All wars that are going on in the world right now, as well as every violence and nullification of principles and laws, did not begin yesterday, but on March 24, 1999, with the attack on Serbia, which marked the end of international law and order, justice and the truth, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in Vranje, southern Serbia, on Tuesday evening.

Vucic was speaking at a commemorative event honouring the victims of the 1999 NATO aggression on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which Serbia was a part of at the time.

"However, in spite of everything, today we can say that we see things much more clearly now. That there is no doubt any more, that everything has been laid bare and that everything is crystal clear. All wars that are going on in the world, all of today's violence and nullification of principles, that did not start yesterday - it began on March 24, 1999. And if anyone is wondering today why international law is being violated, the only true and correct answer is: because of the permission that was issued for that on March 24, 1999," Vucic said.

Again, the answer to the question why some countries' territories are being taken away from them today and why their territorial integrity and sovereignty is being violated is: because of the practice introduced on March 24, 1999, he said.

"Why is order being imposed through force and bombs? Why the killings of officials and civilians, why the destruction of infrastructure, the destruction of entire cities, why the public execution of any kind of humaneness and empathy? There is only one answer: because of March 24, 1999," Vucic said.

It is not just the day when a savage bombing of a free, sovereign country began - it is also a day that marked the end of international law and order, justice and the truth, compassion and humaneness, he said.

"The day when the world set off to its, perhaps final, destruction. And if that actually happens one day and if we end up being surrounded by the ruins of an entire civilisation, there will be no doubt - the end began on March 24, 1999," Vucic noted.

The commemorative event in Vranje was attended by Serbian and Republika Srpska officials and Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church, among others.

Vucic: I will never give up on Kosovo-Metohija and Serbia

VRANJE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday in Vranje, southern Serbia, that he would never give up on Kosovo-Metohija and Serbia.

Vucic was speaking at a commemorative event honouring the victims of the 1999 NATO aggression on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which Serbia was a part of at the time.

"Foreigners have told me thousands of times: 'you will get the Nobel Prize, just recognise 'Kosovo' as independent. Look to the future, do not look back, do not look to the past.' And I was trying to look to the future," he said.

"However I looked to the future, in that future I would always see Kosovo-Metohija and my Serbia, and I could not give up on that, and I never will," Vucic noted.
