BELGRADE - Speaking to reporters after consultations with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, United Serbia deputy leader Dalibor "Palma" Markovic said on Tuesday his party was not in favour of calling early parliamentary elections at this time and that the elections should be held "when the time comes."
"Our position and opinion is that the elections should be held when the time for them comes - when (regular) parliamentary elections are to be held," he said.
Speaking about the EU, Markovic said United Serbia supported cooperation with the bloc.
"Serbia should have become a part of that European family a long time ago but the conditions for Serbia are changing constantly. What United Serbia will never support when it comes to the EU is a condition under which the snatched Serbian territory of Kosovo-Metohija must be declared an independent state," he added.
Markovic also said the economy was "the most important thing for Serbia".
