BELGRADE - Commenting on Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic's upcoming visit to China, Serbian Progressive Party leader Milos Vucevic, who is also Vucic's adviser on regional affairs, said on Tuesday all diplomatic activities by the president and other Serbian officials were important and demonstrated Serbia's openness to making its positions clear and to fighting for its interests.

"The visit to (Chinese) President Xi (Jinping), to Beijing, is exceptional. We will hear everything in the coming days. In the past few days, Beijing was visited by (US) President (Donald) Trump and by (Russian President Vladimir) Putin, and it will now be visited by President Vucic," Vucevic told Pink TV.

"That reflects the relationship between President Xi and Vucic. My expectation is that we will see some new investments," Vucevic said, adding that he also expected to see good meetings with Officials of the Communist Party of China.

He noted that energy was the dominant topic, and added that the news that Azerbaijan would invest in a gas-fired power plant in Nis was "fantastic."

"We have very good relations with Baku. If we want to keep developing Serbia, things like this must be continued," Vucevic said.
