BANJALUKA - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met on Tuesday in Banjaluka with Republika Srpska PM Savo Minic as part of continued intensive cooperation between Serbia and Republika Srpska aimed at strengthening institutional ties and carrying out joint projects that are important to citizens on both sides of the Drina River.
Macut and Minic discussed advancement of cooperation in health care, education, science, infrastructure, business and transport connectivity, as well as continued implementation of joint development initiatives, said a statement released by the Serbian government.
Macut noted that the goal of joint activities was to implement projects bringing immediate benefits to the citizens.
He said infrastructure ties between Serbia and Republika Srpska were among the priorities as every new road, bridge or transport link contributed to quicker development, a stronger economy and better quality of life.
He highlighted the significance of cooperation in science and higher education, and added that investing in knowledge was the most important investment a society could make and that there was space for forging more intensive ties among universities, scientific institutions and researchers through joint projects.
Macut also noted the significance of strengthening cultural and educational cooperation through supporting exchanges of students, artists and scientists, as well as through preservation of the common language, tradition and cultural heritage.
He said Serbia would continue to be a dependable and strong support to Republika Srpska and to develop with its institutions partnership relations based on mutual trust, responsibility and a common vision of development.
