Macut thanks Sao Tome and Prinicipe PM for support for Serbia's integrity, sovereignty

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Djuro Macut met on Monday in Belgrade with Sao Tome and Principe PM Americo Ramos, whom he thanked for his country's support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia.

Macut and Ramos agreed that Serbia-Sao Tome and Principe relations were characterised by friendship and good cooperation, the Serbian government said in a statement.

They highlighted exceptional cooperation in international organisations, and Macut especially thanked Sao Tome and Prinicipe for its position during a vote on a UNGA resolution on Srebrenica.

"The Republic of Serbia continues to support Sao Tome and Principe in line with its capabilities," Macut said, announcing that the practice of awarding university scholarships to students from Sao Tome and Principe as part of a World in Serbia programme would be continued.

He said Serbia stood ready to share its experiences through the Office for IT and eGovernance to support modernisation and strengthening of eGovernment in Sao Tome and Principe.
