BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said last night Pristina's police had pointed guns at his son Danilo after pulling over his car near Podujevo, Kosovo-Metohija, on Wednesday and demanded that he take off a shirt reading Surrender Is Not An Option, but that he had refused to comply.

Danilo Vucic was visiting Kosovo-Metohija for St Vitus's Day commemorations in Gracanica.

In a statement on Wednesday evening, Vucic said a car carrying his son had been pulled over and searched by the so-called Kosovo Police three times during the visit.

"My congratulations to Albin Kurti on his courage. Kurti is not so courageous when he is in my company, but he is when he sends other people to manhandle other people's children. He can just carry on," he said.

"The last time they pulled Danilo over near Podujevo, the ethnic Albanian police officers demanded that he take off a shirt reading Surrender Is Not An Option at all costs. Danilo refused to comply and then they pointed their guns at him and asked: 'What is your father's name?' He responded: 'Aleksandar! That is my dad and your president!' They did not get him to take the shirt off and his face is untarnished. Surrender is not an option!" Vucic wrote in an Instagram post shortly after midnight.
