BELGRADE - Milan Radoicic appeared in a hearing before the Higher Public Prosecutor's office in Belgrade on Tuesday on suspicion of committing the criminal offence of association for the purpose of committing criminal offences, the criminal offence of illicit production, possession, carrying and distribution of firearms and explosives and serious criminal offences against general safety.
The suspect denied committing the offences, the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
After the hearing, the prosecutor's office proposed that the preliminary proceedings judge of the Higher Court in Belgrade place the suspect in custody to prevent him from escaping.
Several as yet unknown persons are under investigation on suspicion of committing serious criminal offences against general safety.
The investigation order said Radoicic, aged 45, had obtained weapons, ammunition and highly destructive explosives from Tuzla, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, between January 2023 and September 24, 2023.
The weapons were delivered in the territory of Belgrade and then transferred and stored by Radoicic on unknown locations in the Autonomous Province of Kosovo-Metohija, in abandoned buildings and forests.
As the ringleader of a group of several as yet unknown persons, through joint activities and an act against general safety, Radoicic endangered the lives of people in Banjska in the territory of Kosovo-Metohija on September 24, the order said.
