BRUSSELS - The EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak will travel to Belgrade and Pristina on October 21 with the foreign policy and security advisers of the French president, the German chancellor and the Italian PM - Emmanuel Bonne, Jens Plattner and Francesco Tallo - and US special Western Balkans envoy Gabriel Escobar for meetings with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Pristina's PM Albin Kurti.
EU spokesperson Peter Stano confirmed this to reporters in Brussels, adding that the purpose of the visit was to achieve concrete progress in implementation of an agreement on the path to normalisation and de-escalation following the latest developments.
Stano said the EU, its member states and the US remained strong proponents of normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina and a European future of the entire region.
He said they had clear expectations the parties would continue the normalisation process and meet their commitments without delay or conditions.
