BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met on Wednesday in Belgrade with Gen Alexus Grynkewich, Commander of the US European Command and NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, noting that dialogue was the only path to preserving regional stability and security and that Serbia would continue to be a dependable and responsible partner in preservation of peace.

"I thanked the esteemed interlocutor for the stabilising role of NATO-KFOR and expressed the hope KFOR will continue to perform an important role in protection of peace," Vucic posted on Instagram.

The parties discussed the current security situation in the region, as well as the significance of preserving peace and stability in the Western Balkans.

"I noted that maintaining military neutrality, as well as a continuation of responsible and professional cooperation with NATO through the Partnership for Peace programme, are crucial for Serbia, with full respect for the interests of the Republic of Serbia and the policy we are conducting," Vucic added.

He especially highlighted the significance of preservation of peace and stability in Kosovo-Metohija, as well as the necessity of protection for Serbs in the province and respect for international law and UNSCR 1244.

"I noted that today marks exactly twenty-seven years since the adoption of the Resolution as the key international framework for Kosovo-Metohija, whereby an international civilian and security order was established that was also aimed at protecting Kosovo-Metohija Serbs," Vucic added.
