BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic presented on Wednesday the Order of the Serbian Flag 1st Class to Richard Grenell, a former US envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, for distinguished merit in development and strengthening of peaceful cooperation and friendly relations between Serbia and the US.
On February 15, Serbia's Statehood Day, Vucic awarded state honours to a group of institutions and individuals including Grenell, who was unable to attend a presentation ceremony.
Speaking to reporters after presenting the Order to Grenell at the Presidency of Serbia, Vucic said the former White House envoy was a true friend of Serbia who had contributed to peace and stability in the region.
"Today, I have the honour of expressing gratitude on behalf of the citizens of Serbia to a man who has made a significant impact on Serbia-US relations in a short period of time by working tirelessly and substantially enriched the ties between our peoples," Vucic noted.
He said Grenell's role in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue had not only contributed to regional peace and stability but had also played a crucial role in strengthening of Serbia-US relations.
