BELGRADE - The EU does not like Serbia's attendance at the recent Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) summit in Uganda, says Serbian FM Ivica Dacic.
"The EU thinks we should not be dealing with those countries because if you want to be an EU member, you cannot be a NAM member, but we are no longer a member of the NAM. Even though we have founded it and even though over a hundred UN member states are NAM members, we are just helping the movement," Dacic told Pink TV on Thursday.
The NAM is on Serbia's side when it comes to its territorial integrity and sovereignty, Dacic said.
"A large number of countries from the NAM do not recognise 'Kosovo' and we must actively participate in all that. It is a place and an opportunity to hold discussions with various countries. They understand us a little better than the West does because they have had similar problems. They had to fight for their freedom, their independence and against colonialism, and we provided great, enormous support to them in that," Dacic noted.
