BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic said on Friday in Budapest Serbia would purchase armoured vehicles from Hungary and sell ammunition to the Hungarian side.
"Today, we made our defence cooperation concrete, primarily in terms of purchases of arms and military equipment on both sides. Serbia will buy armoured mechanised vehicles from Hungary, which are what is necessary for our so-called light units and can be fitted into our existing systems and what Serbia can modernise, which is very useful when it comes to the issue of the safety and security of our country," Vucevic said after meeting with Hungarian Defence Minister Kristof Szalay-Bobrovniczky.
Vucevic said military purchases from Hungary included something "very useful for both the air force and the anti-aircraft defence" and that further cooperation in manufacturing and modernisation of radar systems and other anti-aircraft defence systems had been discussed with the Hungarian side.
