Vucevic, UAE defence minister discuss cooperation

BELGRADE - Serbian PM Milos Vucevic received UAE Defence Minister Mohammed Fadel Al Mazrouei in Belgrade on Friday to discuss continuation and advancement of defence cooperation.

Vucevic noted that preserving peace and stability was a top priority for Serbia and its government and that the country was fully committed to that goal, a statement from the PM's office said.

In view of that, investing in the country's defence system means investing in peace, not an arms race with neighbouring countries, Vucevic said.

Al Mazrouei said he looked forward to advancement of cooperation in military technology.

In an open discussion, the parties exchanged views and information on the global political and security situation in the present circumstances.

Previously, Al Mazrouei also met with Serbian Defence Minister Bratislav Gasic.

They discussed the current global geopolitical and security situation and cooperation in the defence industry, the Serbian MoD said in a statement.
