MONACO - Serbian football champions Red Star Belgrade suffered a 5-1 away rout to Monaco in a UEFA Champions League Match Day 3 game on Tuesday evening.
Takumi Minamino (20, 70 min) Breel Embolo (45+4 min), Wilfried Singo (54 min) and Maghnes Akliouche (90+7 min) scored for the hosts and Cherif Ndiaye provided the sole goal for Red Star in the 27th minute by winning and converting a penalty kick.
In the 56th minute, Embolo had a goal disallowed by VAR for handling the ball and Red Star finished the game with ten men after Peter Olayinka left the pitch due to injury with no substitutions left for the Belgrade Red-and-Whites.
Red Star are still without points in the competition, while Monaco have seven and are close to qualifying for the next stage.
