Kecmanovic, Medjedovic out of Madrid Masters after first-round defeats

MADRID - Serbian tennis players Miomir Kecmanovic and Hamad Medjedovic are both out of the men's singles event of the Madrid Masters ATP tournament following first-round defeats on Thursday.

Kecmanovic lost 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) to Italian Lorenzo Sonego after two hours and three minutes of play.

In the second round, Sonego will face Australian Alex de Minaur.

Earlier, Medjedovic was defeated 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4 by Argentine Tomas Martin Etcheverry after three hours and 17 minutes of play.

Etcheverry will next take on Italian Lorenzo Musetti.

The prize money at the Madrid Masters is 8,055,385 euros.
