LESKOVAC - Speaking to reporters ahead of Saturday's FIFA World Cup 2026 home qualifying game against Albania, Serbia captain Aleksandar Mitrovic said he hoped the men's national football team would continue a string of good results at the Dubocica Stadium in Leskovac, southern Serbia.
Mitrovic is back to full fitness and in good form after a prolonged injury problem.
"I am back and feeling good, hopefully I will continue to perform in good form if I get a chance to play. Hopefully I will be on the pitch and help the team," said Mitrovic, who scored three goals and made two assists for his new club, the Qatari outfit Al-Rayyan, last month.
He said he was glad the match would be played at the Dubocica Stadium.
"I feel good in Leskovac because I score goals here. The whole team feels good in Nis, Leskovac, at the stadium and in the atmosphere here... From the moment we arrive until the moment we leave," he said.
"We have support until the final whistle," Mitrovic added.
