BELGRADE - Zeljko Obradovic has resigned as head coach of Serbian basketball club Partizan Belgrade.
In a farewell letter to Partizan supporters, Obradovic said he had had to take responsibility for "bad things that have happened" and thanked the fans for their enormous support in the past four and a half years.
"Four and a half years ago, I returned to my beloved club and started living the most beautiful dream together with you. I had the desire and the objective for our Partizan to become a part of the EuroLeague again after ten years, and we have all made it together," he wrote in the letter.
"Unfortunately, the moment came when I had to take responsibility for all the bad things that have happened this season, and I tender my irrevocable resignation," read the letter, published on the club website on Wednesday evening.
Partizan have four wins and nine losses in the EuroLeague this season.
