Djere suffers first round defeat in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - Serbian tennis player Laslo Djere has failed to qualify for the second round of the Hong Kong ATP tournament after a 6-2, 6-0 loss to American Marcos Giron in the first round on Tuesday.

World number 64 Giron defeated Djere, who is 95th in the ATP rankings, after 61 minutes of play.

Earlier, Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic lost to Frenchman Alexandre Muller 7-5, 6-4 in the opening round.

The prize money at the Hong Kong tournament is 700,045 dollars.
