Partizan take lead vs Red Star in semi-final series of ABA basketball league playoffs

BELGRADE - Partizan Belgrade beat arch-rivals Red Star 100-94 at home on Monday evening to take a 1-0 lead in the two teams' semi-final series in the playoffs of the regional ABA basketball league.

At the Belgrade Arena, Dwayne Washington led the scoring for Partizan with 23 points, Sterling Brown scored 16 points and Carlik Jones added 15.

Jordan Nwora stood out for Red Star with 31 points and Jared Butler added 18.

The second game of the series will be played at Belgrade's Aleksandar Nikolic Hall on Thursday evening.

A potential decider is slated for next Monday.
