Serbia defeats Bosnia and Herzegovina in FIBA World Cup 2027 qualifiers

BELGRADE - The Serbia men's national basketball team beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 94-81 (27-15, 27-20, 21-24, 19-22) at home in the last FIBA World Cup 2027 European Qualifiers Group C game on Monday evening.

At the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in Belgrade, Nikola Jovic led Serbia to victory with 32 points and two rebounds, Nikola Jokic scored a triple-double with 20 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds and Nikola Djurisic added 16 points.

Luka Garza stood out for Bosnia and Herzegovina with 16 points and Darko Talic added 12.

Turkey finished the first qualifying stage on top of the group table with 12 points and is followed by Serbia with ten, Bosnia and Herzegovina with eight and Switzerland with six points.

Turkey, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are through to the second qualifying stage, in which they will form a new group - Group J - together with Italy, Latvia and Iceland.

In Game 1 of the second qualifying stage, Serbia will face Iceland on August 28 and Italy in Game 2 on August 31.
