NICOSIA - Serbia's Vojvodina Novi Sad lost 2-1 away to Cypriot side APOEL Nicosia in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round on Thursday evening.
In front of almost 15,000 spectators at the GSP Stadium, APOEL took the lead through a Giorgi Kvilitaia goal in the 32nd minute following an error by the entire Vojvodina defence but Dejan Zukic equalised with an exquisite header in the 56th minute after a Nikola Cumic cross.
After making several great saves in the game, Vojvodina goalkeeper Lazar Carevic committed a blunder in the 65th minute to allow APOEL's Lasha Dvali to put the ball in an empty net to make it 2-1.
