ATHENS - The Serbia men's national basketball team lost to Italy 89-88 on Wednesday evening in its second game at the Acropolis basketball tournament in Athens.
Previously, Serbia defeated Greece 71-64 on Tuesday.
Serbia got off to an excellent start to the game against Italy and had a 17-point lead in the first quarter, but Italy made up the deficit to win.
In the final seconds of the game, Serbia's Bogdan Bogdanovic missed a shot that could have been the winner for his team.
Nikola Jovic led the scoring for Serbia with 18 points and Bogdanovic, Vanja Marinkovic and Marko Guduric added 14, 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Simone Fontecchio scored 13 points for Italy and Matteo Spagnolo and Achille Polonara added 12 and 11 points, respectively.
