Djokovic beats Medvedev in US Open final to claim 24th Grand Slam title

NEW YORK - Serbia's Novak Djokovic, the world's top-ranked male tennis player, won a record 24th Grand Slam title by defeating Russian Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 in the US Open final in New York last night.

Djokovic won his fourth career trophy at the tournament after three hours and 17 minutes of play and is now 10-5 head-to-head against Medvedev.

Djokovic also reclaimed the number one spot in the ATP rankings on Monday.
