Serbia's Medjedovic defeated in Astana semis

ASTANA - Serbian tennis player Hamad Medjedovic has failed to reach the final of the Astana ATP tournament after losing 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 to American Sebastian Korda in the semi-finals on Monday.

World number 28 Korda won after two hours and 53 minutes.

Medjedovic, who is currently placed 120th in the ATP rankings, will move up around 15 positions in next week's rankings.

In the final, Korda will face the winner of the tie between Austrian Sebastian Ofner and Frenchman Adrien Manarino.

The prize money at the Astana tournament is 1,017,850 dollars.
