LESKOVAC - The Serbia men's national football team has secured a historic EURO berth by drawing 2-2 with Bulgaria in the last EURO 2024 Group G qualifying game in Leskovac, southern Serbia, on Sunday.
The national team will play at EURO 2024 in Germany for the first time under its present name and also for the first time since 2000.
In front of more than 8,000 spectators at the Dubocica Stadium, Serbia took the lead through a Milos Veljkovic goal in the 17th minute but Bulgaria came from behind to take the lead through goals by Georgi Rusev in the 59th minute and Kiril Despodov in the 69th minute.
Serbia switched to attacking mode and Srdjan Babic netted in the 82nd minute to win a point for his team.
In the other Group G game, Hungary beat Montenegro 3-1 at home.
