BUCHAREST - Serbia and Romania have excellent bilateral relations, as well as great opportunities for strengthening business ties and economic cooperation, especially in the energy, logistics, trade and tourism sectors, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (PKS) representative Mihailo Vesovic and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania President Mihai Daraban noted at a meeting in Bucharest.
"With representatives of the Romanian chamber, I also discussed the potential of the River Danube and potential implementation of cross-border and regional projects. A large Serbia-Romania business forum in Belgrade also awaits us soon," Vesovic said after the meeting.
During a working visit to Romania, Vesovic took part in a multilateral meeting of the Carpathian Initiative, also attended by Eurochambres Director Ben Butters, as well as by representatives of the chambers of commerce of Romania, Poland and Ukraine, the PKS said in a statement.
The participants noted the significance of strengthening multilateral cooperation and regional initiatives and highlighted sustainability, environmental protection and boosting the region's competitiveness as the most important topics, the statement said.
