Kozarev speaks with adviser to Florida governor

BELGRADE - Secretary-General at the Serbian MFA Dusan Kozarev spoke with TJ Villamil, adviser to the governor of the US state of Florida, in Belgrade on Friday.

The parties gave a very positive assessment of a trend of intensifying business cooperation between Serbia and the US, with emphasis on the potential offered by the multiple existing and planned ties with Florida.

Kozarev and Villamil - president of eMerge Americas, the largest business forum in Florida and a former director of the state's investment agency, Select Florida - agreed that the announced launch of Air Serbia flights between Belgrade and Miami and the opening of a Serbian consulate in the US city would bring long-awaited benefits to a growing Serbian diaspora, the MFA said in a statement.

They said that would also encourage many other ties, especially in the IT sector, trade, tourism and culture.

They agreed that there was large untapped potential to increase the volume of trade, and that different theme-based conferences should be held in Florida as well as in Serbia more frequently in the future, especially in view of interest among US companies in investing in Serbia, highlighted by Villamil.
