DAVOS - Serbian First Deputy PM and Finance Minister Sinisa Mali and Archer Aviation CCO Nikhil Goel signed on Wednesday in Davos a partnership agreement that will provide a framework for the US company's cooperation with the Serbian government in introducing electric air taxi services in Serbia.
Under the deal, Serbia has selected Archer Aviation as its preferred eVTOL partner and has the option to purchase an initial fleet of Archer Aviation Midnight aircraft.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Archer Aviation founder and CEO Adam Goldstein.
"I am delighted that we had an opportunity to sign an agreement with Archer Aviation. For us, it is important that, in terms of technology, we cooperate with one of the best and most powerful companies in the world, and that we bring leading-edge, top US technology to Serbia and that we are long-term partners," Vucic said.
Mali said Serbia had become the first country in Europe to sign an agreement with Archer Aviation - a leading VTOL aircraft manufacturer - and noted that the first demonstration flights were expected to take place during EXPO 2027 Belgrade.
