Serbia receives 470,000 tourists in May - 7.4 pct more y-o-y

BELGRADE - Serbia received 470,000 tourists in May 2026, which is a 7.4 pct increase y-o-y, according to figures released by the national statistical office RZS on Tuesday.

The tourists generated 1,209,000 overnight stays, which is a 5.5 pct increase y-o-y.

Serbian tourists accounted for 629,000 overnight stays, which is a 2.2 pct increase y-o-y, while foreign visitors generated 581,000 overnight stays, which is a 9.3 pct increase y-o-y.

The most visited Serbian cities in May 2026 were Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis, the most visited spas were Vrnjacka Banja, Sokobanja and Banja Vrdnik, while Mt Zlatibor, Mt Kopaonik and Mt Tara were the mountains that attracted the highest number of visitors.

Tourists from Turkey, Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina accounted for the majority of overnight stays by foreign tourists.
