BELGRADE - Air Serbia welcomed another Airbus A320 aircraft at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport on Tuesday.
Registered as YU-APU, the aircraft will soon be introduced into the national airline’s scheduled operations.
"The new plane was manufactured in 2007 and has a 180-seat configuration. The arrival of the aircraft is part of activities aimed at fleet improvement and increasing capacity on Air Serbia’s flights," Air Serbia said in a statement.
"Introducing another Airbus A320 into service is part of Air Serbia’s continuous fleet renewal process. We are gradually replacing older A319 models with these aircraft, increasing the number of available seats and improving operational efficiency. Our goal is to develop the fleet in a long-term and planned manner, adapting its structure to market needs and the company’s future growth,” said Air Serbia CEO Jiri Marek.
"The aircraft is an A320-232 variant and is equipped with two IAE engines, each providing 27,000 lbf (120.1 kN) of thrust. The wingspan is 35.80 metres, the length is 37.57 metres, while its maximum operating altitude is 39,000 feet. Thanks to its characteristics, the aircraft is suited for short-haul and medium-haul flights, offering high reliability and operational efficiency. Before arriving in Belgrade, the aircraft underwent a painting process in the Netherlands, where it was adorned with Air Serbia’s distinctive livery.
Air Serbia currently operates a fleet consisting of Airbus A330-200, A320-200, A319-100, Embraer E195 and ATR 72-600 aircraft," the airline also said.
