NBS IPS registers daily record-high number of payments

BELGRADE - The National Bank of Serbia Instant Payment System (NBS IPS) processed 360,741 payments on Monday, May 15, reaching its new daily record high.

"The NBS IPS system enables one of the world’s state-of-the-art payment methods. It operates 24/7/365, i.e. citizens and businesses can make payments easily and quickly, from any place and at any time they wish - during weekends, non-working days, at night. The payee receives money in a few seconds only.

The system was launched on October 22, 2018, as one of the first systems of that kind in the world. It has been functioning smoothly ever since, recording a constantly rising number of payments," the NBS said in a statement.
