BANJALUKA - The policy of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic is that Serbia will always stand with Republika Srpska while respecting the Dayton Agreement and the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic said after meeting with Republika Srpska Minister of Trade and Tourism Denis Sulic in Banjaluka Wednesday.

"The challenges facing our people today are huge, as has often been the case in history. Throughout the 20th century, we fought for survival and political independence and, just like we did at the time, we will succeed in preserving peace and securing economic progress under the current leadership, too, and in safeguarding everything generations before us have achieved," Momirovic said.

According to a statement released by his ministry, Momirovic said the leaderships of Serbia and Republika Srpska must find space for further economic growth and development while deepening trade cooperation.

"It is important to continue the work on solving the practical problems facing companies on both sides of the Drina. We must continue to support major investments in infrastructure projects," Momirovic noted.

He said the meeting with Sulic had also addressed the CEFTA agreement and the Open Balkan initiative and noted that stronger economic ties across the Balkans were a fundamental interest of Serbia and something that brought benefits to all nations in southeastern Europe.
