BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received Ohio National Guard Commander Maj-Gen John Harris in Belgrade on Friday, raising concerns over the increasingly grave security situation in Kosovo-Metohija and requesting stronger US support for protection of Serbs in the province.
"A constructive discussion with Ohio National Guard Commander Maj-Gen John Harris about the security situation in the region, Serbia-US relations as well as possibilities for further advancement of our bilateral military cooperation, but also cooperation in other areas.
I conveyed to Maj-Gen Harris concerns over the increasingly grave security situation of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija, requesting stronger US support for protection of our people and for ensuring their rights," Vucic wrote in an Instagram post.
He noted that Serbia was committed to strengthening overall bilateral relations with the US, especially when it comes to the economy and business, with a view to establishing a strategic partnership in areas of mutual interest.
"We were pleased to note the sincere mutual commitment to continuing the successful cooperation between Serbia and the Ohio National Guard and presented proposals about possibilities for advancing it," Vucic added.
