BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Thursday the results of an announced anti-corruption clampdown in the country would become evident in late January and that individuals from all social spheres and political parties who had obtained illicit gains would be prosecuted.
State authorities, including prosecutors and the police, will clearly show the crimes committed and where the illicit gains have been obtained, Vucic said on Pink TV.
"I think people will be satisfied. It will be the toughest-ever clampdown on corruption in Serbia in the modern era," Vucic said.
He noted that certain preparations were needed but that people would be able to see "major results" of the anti-corruption drive on a daily basis as early as from January 20 or January 27.
