BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday Sarajevo's arrest warrant for Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, Republika Srpska Parliament Speaker Nenad Stevandic and PM Radovan Viskovic was no contribution to peace but to destabilisation and destruction of mutual ties and to wreaking complete havoc in the region.
Serbia will always fight for peace, safeguard peace and respect the Dayton Agreement, as well as stand with Republika Srpska and its leadership, Vucic said in a video posted on Instagram.
Serbia will never support an arrest of Dodik, Viskovic and Stevandic - especially not if they were to be arrested over political disagreements with Sarajevo and representatives of the international community - and it will stand firmly with its people, he noted.
"Long live Srpska, long live Serbia!" Vucic said.
In a reaction, Serbia's caretaker PM Milos Vucevic said he hoped there would be "sufficient common sense" and that no one would attempt to arrest the Republika Srpska top officials as that would be a "path to civil war."
