BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Thursday evening he would start consultations on the make-up of a new government on Monday.
"We will see what those who have the majority will say, and whether they want to form a government or go to elections. I am waiting for the representatives of the majority - those who have the votes to elect a new government - to first say whether they want that government, or want the time to expire and to go to elections. Therefore, there are two options. I have yet to speak with them (the majority). They must come and tell me that. They must come to tell me who could be the new PM-designate," Vucic told the RTS.
"As soon as they tell me they have secured a majority for the PM-designate, it is my constitutional obligation to give them the mandate," he said.
"As soon as they (the opposition) convince me that they have 126 votes (the majority in the parliament), I will give them the mandate," Vucic also said.
