Vucic, Meloni discuss Western Balkans, cooperation, EXPO 2027

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke with Italian PM Giorgia Meloni by phone on Tuesday to discuss Western Balkan affairs, cooperation and the EXPO 2027 in Belgrade.

"In a cordial and constructive discussion with Giorgia Meloni, we exchanged views on the most significant issues for the Western Balkans, as well as on concrete steps leading us to strengthening of mutual cooperation and on the upcoming EXPO, which Italy has confirmed it will participate in, which I consider to be a strong message of friendship and partnership," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.

He thanked Italy for its principled and continued support for Serbia's EU integration process, and said Serbia extremely appreciated the strong strategic partnership with Italy, "one of our most important political and economic partners in the EU."

"PM Meloni again confirmed that Italy remains committed to further EU enlargement and to support for Western Balkan countries on that path," Vucic noted.
