BELGRADE - Serbia's Bureau for Coordinating the Work of Security Services concluded on Friday the security situation in the country is stable in spite of constant internal and external provocations, pressure and numerous challenges.
At a session, chaired by National Security Council Secretary Ivica Dacic, the bureau discussed the current security situation in the country and the region, as well as foreign policy trends and the manner they were reflected in developments in Serbia, and noted that the security of Serbian citizens and preservation of peace and stability in the country were priority tasks of the security sector, an Interior Ministry statement said.
The bureau noted that the security sector as well as all Serbian state authorities would, in line with their respective competencies and authority, take all measures and actions towards maintaining stable public peace and order, unobstructed functioning of state and public institutions and protection of the constitutional order and the territorial integrity of Serbia, as well as security and normal functioning of everyday life and work of all citizens.
The session was also attended by Security and Information Agency Director Vladimir Orlic, Military Security Agency Director Lt Gen Djuro Jovanic, Military Intelligence Agency Director Brig Gen Vladimir Planic and Police Director Dragan Vasiljevic.
