BERN - Speaking to reporters after a meeting with Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis in Bern, Serbian FM Marko Djuric said Serbia and Switzerland, as militarily neutral countries, shared a "unique outlook on world events", and noted that Serbia was ready to contribute to initiatives that would bring peace and stability in Europe.
Djuric, who is on a two-day visit to Switzerland, said he had had "very rich and fruitful discussions" about Serbia-Switzerland bilateral relations as well as about Serbs living in Switzerland.
"They have become one of the key bridges and pillars of the overall bilateral relationship," Djuric said.
He especially thanked Switzerland for becoming the first country to confirm its participation in EXPO 2027 Belgrade.
Djuric said the event offered a unique opportunity to show the world "a fresh face of Serbia" and all the positive changes that had taken place, as well as everything the country aspired to become.
"That is why we are investing so much in building up new infrastructure, in building up new capacities," he added.
"We also have excellent cooperation with Switzerland in the economic sphere, which is growing, alongside our growth in the IT and software industries, our services industries are getting closely connected together. We appreciate very much the support we have received from Switzerland in developing our science and technology parks," Djuric also said.
