BELGRADE - The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade reiterated on Friday an appeal to citizens to refrain from restricting the freedom of movement through traffic blockades, noting that the practice is contrary to the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Serbia.
Otherwise, police officers are authorised to exercise the authority prescribed by law and to take action to safeguard public order and peace and security, and to protect the lives, rights and freedoms of the citizens, as well as property, it said in a statement.
