Vucic meets with Meloni, thanks her for Italy's principled support

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with Italian PM Giorgia Meloni in Belgrade on Tuesday evening and thanked her for Italy's principled support for Serbia, especially when it comes to EU integration and EXPO 2027.

"I thanked PM Giorgia Meloni for Italy's principled support, especially when it comes to EU integration and EXPO 2027, where we will demonstrate the strength of friendship and a joint vision, because a confirmation of participation does not only mean that a country is coming to the expo - it means support, partnership and trust," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.

He added that Serbia exceptionally appreciated the relations with Italy not only as with a political partner, but a real friend that understood Serbian values, tradition and aspirations.

"Serbia and Italy stand shoulder to shoulder on the path of development and stability of the entire region," Vucic noted.
