Vucic receives outgoing Cuban ambassador

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received a farewell visit from Cuban Ambassador to Belgrade Leyde Ernesto Rodriguez Hernandez on Friday and thanked him for his contribution to advancement of the cooperation between the two countries, adding that Serbia remained committed to deepening its ties with Latin American states.

In a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile, Vucic wrote that Serbia-Cuba relations had been built on the foundations of mutual respect and noted that Belgrade appreciated Cuba's principled position on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.

"We appreciate Cuba's principled position on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia and I believe that, going forward, too, we will continue to advance political dialogue and cooperation in areas of mutual interest, such as health care and biotechnology, education, culture, as well as trade, agriculture and tourism," Vucic posted.

"A sincere friendship and a legacy of cooperation in the Non-Aligned Movement connect us with Cuba. I am confident that, in the years ahead and ahead of EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, we will open new chapters of partnership bringing concrete benefits to our citizens," Vucic added.
