BELGRADE - Serbia's Russian majority-owned oil company NIS has received no notification from the US Department of the Treasury as yet about a potential new delay of US sanctions even though the licence of Croatia's JANAF oil pipeline for supplying crude oil to Serbia has been extended until October 15, Tanjug learns.
According to the agency's sources, the extension granted to JANAF does not automatically mean another delay of the US sanctions on NIS, due to take effect on Thursday 6 am local time.
In a statement, JANAF has said that, for the time being, it had no official information on whether NIS would be granted a licence until October 15 and noted that it was not possible to predict the duration of the sanctions and their exact impact on business operations.
