BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic received the credentials of new Iranian Ambassador to Belgrade Mohammad Sadeq Fazli on Wednesday, noting that Serbia was grateful to Iran for its principled position of non-recognition of the unilaterally declared independence of the so-called Kosovo.
"In that way, that country has confirmed a commitment to the fundamental principles of international law. We are hoping for continued support from that country for Serbia with regards to the Kosovo-Metohija issue and in international organisations," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram account.
Welcoming the Iranian ambassador and wishing him a successful tenure in Serbia, Vucic said he firmly believed that, through his engagement, Fazli would make a major contribution to further advancement of the ties between the two countries.
Vucic noted that Serbia was committed to further development of bilateral ties and cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and youth.
